Conference History:

The conference is the seventh in a row, following earlier conferences organised in Greenwich, London, UK (2003, 2005, 2007), Kavala, Greece (2004), Adelaide, Australia (2006) and Nagpur, India (2008).

Venue

The Conference will take place in the historical setting of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich (London), which is the home of the University of Greenwich Business School, between 23rd and 27th of July 2007.

How to get to the University of Greenwich

A. From London Heathrow Airport

From landing time: about 40/45 minutes to go through Immigration formalities before reaching the “Meeting Point” from where signs show the way to public transports
Unless one does not like travelling by underground…there is no need for a taxi…very expensive and time-consuming (can take more than 2 hour drive to get to Greenwich)

Two options

Option A1

From Heathrow Airport:
Train Express to Paddington
The Paddington Heathrow Express is a dedicated rail express link into Central London. Heathrow-Paddington Station: 15 minutes . (there is a train every 15 minutes). Trains run between around 5 a.m. and midnight.
The London terminus (Paddington) is north-west of the Central London area.
At Heathrow there are separate train stations for Terminals 1,2,3 and Terminal 4. Both are deep underground, but of course there are lifts. The trains start and finish at Terminal 4.

Fares: Ask for a ticket to Greenwich by train AND underground: (currently) around £19.40 (including Express Heathrow-Paddington: £14.50)

From Paddington Station:
Go to Baker Street Station
By Underground train Bakerloo Line

From Baker Street Station:
Go to Canary Wharf Station
By Underground train Jubilee Line

From Canary Wharf Station:
Go to Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich Station
By DLR (Docklands Light Railway)

At Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich Station:
Leave the train, get out of the station, turn left, walk out of the Arcade through College Approach (just in front of you) towards West Gate (about 100 meters) to access the Royal Naval College, home of the University of Greenwich Business School, venue of the Conference
Duration of the journey: about 1 hour 15 minutes

Option A2

From Heathrow Airport
Underground train to Green Park Station
By Piccadilly Line

From Green Park Station:
Go to Canary Wharf Station
By Jubilee Line

From Canary Wharf Station
Go to Cutty Sark for Greenwich Maritime etc
All the rest: as in Option A1

Fares:

At peak time (before 9:00 a.m.: £12.40)
After 9:00 p.m. £6.30

Duration of the journey about 1 hour 45 minutes

B. From London Gatwick Airport

Same advice about transport by taxi…

Ask for a ticket (single) to Greenwich by train AND underground

Fares: £11.30

From Gatwick Airport:
Go to London Bridge Station
By Ground train
From London Bridge
Two options

Option B1

Go to Canary Wharf Station
By Underground train Jubilee Line
From Canary Wharf: as in Options A1 and A2

Option B2

Go by Ground train to Greenwich Station
Out of the station: turn left, for about 15 minute walk through Greenwich High Road, then Greenwich Church Street, to get to College Approach and walk towards West Gate entrance to the Royal Naval College…
